Kiri’s Easy Sausage Rolls

What to prepare

8 fresh beef sausages

2 sheets of ready rolled puff pastry

BBQ sauce
-
egg wash
-
sesame seeds
How to make them
-
Brown the sausages in a frying pan over a medium heat for approximately 10 minutes. They don’t need to be cooked all the way through as they will finish cooking in the oven.

Cut each pastry sheet in half vertically, then in half again
horizontally to form 4 even squares and place a diagonal line of BBQ sauce on each (I use 2 tsp per square but you can use more or less according to taste).

Place the browned sausages on top of the BBQ sauce and then fold up the corners of each pastry square and gently press to seal.

Brush the pastry lightly with egg wash and sprinkle the sesame seeds on top.

Place in the oven and cook for 30-35 minutes or until the pastry is puffed & golden, and the sausages are cooked through.

Add to your picnic basket wrapped in foil and a tea-towel to keep warm, and enjoy whilst enjoying the views at Wenderholm!
